What to Bring?
We offer fully equipped housekeeping cottages, with ranges, refrigerators, microwaves, coffee makers w/filters, toasters, BBQ’s, cooking utensils, pots & pans, dishes, dish cloths, dish soap, toilet paper, trash bags, pillows, and bed linens. We supply firewood for the woodstoves and propane for the BBQ. Bring your towels, face cloths, paper towels, and personal toiletry items. Forget something? Chances are, we have it for you to borrow or to purchase in our general store. Outpost guest please bring lanterns, sleeping bags, and pillows in addition to the items listed above.
Groceries & Alcohol
Some grocery items, snacks, ice, bait, and toiletries are available in our general store. There are two convenience stores, beer and liquor, within 15 minutes drive. The closest full grocery store is about 50 minutes away, so pick up your main grocery items, meat, and produce, on the way here.
Radio/Televisions
Five cottages are equipped with satellite television, the Hawk’s Haven, Fox Hut, Pine View, Wolf’s Lair and the Barn. For the other cottages, bring your own radio or television if you wish – but don’t forget your CD’s and DVD’s since it will be difficult to get reception. Or just enjoy the peace & quiet – we’ll be happy to remove televisions upon request!
Internet
Wireless internet is available via satellite. It’s fine for email, but too slow to watch videos, movies, play games or downloads. We ask that you log off when not in use to free it up for others.
Telephone Service
Cell phone coverage is minimal here at the camp and should not be relied upon. You are welcome to use the lodge phone with a calling card (we have calling cards for sale in the general store). Bring walkie-talkies if you have them, they’re a great way of staying in contact while enjoying the outdoors!
Boat Information
When renting a boat or motor, you will be asked to sign a Boat Safety Rental Agreement outlining your responsibilities as boat operator. We will review the operation of the boat with you and provide you with a safety kit and maps of our waterway. No one under the age of 18 is permitted to operate. A Pleasure Craft Operator Card (or Canadian Boating License) is not required when renting a boat. No jet skis or ski boats are allowed on our waterway.
Fishing/Hunting Licenses
We are an authorized issuer of licenses for residents and non-residents. For a non-resident hunting license, you must bring your former hunting license from your home state as proof of your hunting experience.
Pets
We love dogs and want them to share your vacation! In order to not disturb other guests, pets must be leashed and supervised at all times. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. One pet per cottage. Please make advance reservations. Extra charge for excessive cleaning or damage.
Cancellations
Deposits are non-refundable if cancelled less than 60 days prior to arrival date. Deposits for Bear Hunt Package are non-refundable if cancelled less than 90 prior to arrival date. All cancellations must be in writing.
